I have journaled the beginning of this incessant focus on a virus. Back in March 14, 2020 I wrote:
“This week started with the declaration of pandemic and ended with a national state of emergency. The whole world went on a frenzy, even here in the valley as people started stockpiling water and toilet paper. The non-stop reporting left me extremely distracted unable to find a quiet time. I was discouraged that Big Valley Grace church has closed its doors and we were prevented to see Scotty.”
From March 20 to about mid May our governor declared shelter in place.
On April 4, 2020 I wrote:
” There is a spiritual darkness that wants to envelope the world through fear and deceit. There is disorder and suspension of our civil rights. We don’t know how long shelter in place will be but God works it out according to His will. May His will be done on earth and his church be drawn in.”
Our daughter graduated summa cum laude but wasn’t able to graduate and was given a lawn sign instead. They “allowed” them to walk in masks in 2021. The idea of wearing a black gown with masks in June at 98F isn’t appealing to her so she skipped it. There were also no jobs open in 2020 so she struggled to find work and got one from a chiropractor as an Admin Asst. Children weren’t able to go to school and adult programs were closed. Everyone except for those they deemed essential worked from home.
2021 was an uncertain year because the government and corporations were enforcing vaccine mandates. My prayer was that Scott would not lose his job and Scotty would not be required to do it to keep his residence. Thankfully by end of 2021 they both got through with religous exemptions.
It is now January 2023 when I write this and our son was in quarantined again, healthy. They are still testing for a 3 year old virus that is long gone. They are still masking at his house and at medical offices right now, but all stores and restaurants are free from the mask mandates. This is California.
